The Folk Song and Dance Ensemble "Łódź" set up in 1983 and developing under care of Youth Culture Centre in Łódź. The founder was Mr. Piotr Witych , which cooperated with us till year 1996. At present of the group are occupied : choreographer and the artistic director is Mrs. Danuta Ciechańska and choreographer and the assistant of artistic director is Mrs. Beata Stelmach. Music director is Mr. Mariusz Walkiewicz and the accompanist is our many-years friend Mr. Miroslaw Kućba.

Still widening program and dynamic growth guarantee recognition and popularity among numerous public. Young dancers in the professional way make over 2 hours of dynamic dances with folk songs, which the main trump are original and interest music and choreography. Repertoire of group consist national dances, songs and dances numerous regions of Poland.

On account of high artistic level Folk Song and Dance Ensemble „Łódź” was admitted to International Council of Organizations for Folklore Festivals and Folk Art ( CIOFF). This distinction enable to propagating polish culture both on national and foreign stages and authorize to organize international festivals with participation of groups from all over the world.

Group except individual performance frequently took part with international folk festivals winning many valuables awards and distinctions. The artistic shows of our group had possibility to admire public from Bulgaria, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Greece and Egypt. Group everywhere is warmly welcome and their shows meet with huge public applause.

Group took part in some screening of polish films with numerous famous directors and actors.
In 1996 group were received by Pope John Paul II during tour née around Italy.
Through our songs and dances we glorify beauty of Polish folklore.
